Some things have crossed my mind and I've wanted to ask "Why?"
It's just my mind at work and I'm only trying to visualize what I feel.
You and I might learn from some of these things; and you might have some to add or something to tell me or correct me for. The comments box is open to all, even the anonymous.

- Why do people feel the need to write in words that average people do not understand? I mean it's true we are to be able to speak good English but being simple and going easy on all those expressions/terms will help in more effective communication. I don't know about you, but I want people to be able to read and understand what I'm saying and not just like what I'm writing because it sounds good but doesn't make sense.
- How come the traffic lights never turn amber before going green? Is it a general thing? I don't think so because I've seen traffic lights turn amber before going green in another country and found that it made sense to set them that way. People need to know they're about to move so that those behind don't start honking them as soon as the lights turn green just because they think it's been green for quite a while. Those people too are just annoying. They need to realise that everyone else is also in a hurry and not just going on a jolly ride.
- Some people think if someone doesn't do something the exact same way they do it, it means they're wrong or they're not doing it the right way. I have come to learn and believe that there's no one way of doing anything. There's nothing like 'the right way'. You learn the ideal way of doing something and then eventually, you find a more comfortable way of doing it. Take driving, for example, where we're taught to adjust our seat, check mirrors, etc. Nobody does that total check before they set off. Some people even do it while driving. Lol! So people should stop bugging me when I'm tying my knot in a different way. As long as it holds, that's fine -_-
- When I buy my can of Malt or whatever drink, people look at me funny when I wash the can with clean water and then get out a handkerchief to wipe the top clean (including the groove). I grew up doing that. And it turns out it's actually good practice 'cos people have discovered that storage of these cans may permit rodents to defecate and urinate on them and can cause illness to some. I normally just do it on impulse but I guess we can learn a thing or two from each other. That's personal preference.
- When my mom drives, she makes use of every single gear each time she touches the lever. By this, I mean she will never go straight from gear 4 to gear 2 when she slows to a second gear speed. She has to move into gear 3, and then to 2. I find that worrying (as an engineer). I keep asking myself why she does that. But anyway, I might be the only one who tries to imagine my engine as I drive, and try to keep keen ears for any weird sounds in the vehicle. Call me weird, but I do it all the time.
I can't say everything. Some things come through and I just forget about them. Others...maybe I just don't think so hard and long about them or they don't occur as often.
These are just some of them and I hope you can share your own too...
Cheers.
finally someone puts into words, what most of us wonder abt from time to time. nicely done
